Located all over Louisville. They have apartments also houses for rent with the option to buy. When I called I told them about my eviction and was told that it would not effect me getting approved for the apartment. They allow you to go see the property and check it out. There are lock boxes at each unit. Rent ranges $450-$1799 and the deposits varies. I know for the apartment I wanted ($450) the deposit was the same price as the rent. Some are pet friendly not sure how much but I am sure they will give you that info.

Located mostly in Old Louisville but do have a few properties in the Hikes point and Dixie Hwy areas. They have 1,2,3,4 bedroom homes. Prices vary $365-$1100 Depending on type of unit. They have Studios Apartments houses and Lofts. The Application fee is $30 plus $99 to hold the apartment if you are not approved for the apartment they will give you your holding fee back. However if you are approved the $99 goes toward your deposit which could be up to one months rent depending on your credit(Evictions will not stop you here. Just will have a higher deposit) There office is located in the heart of old Louisville. What they ask you to do is bring $10 with you to pick up keys to the properties you want to see give them the $10 refundable deposit and once you bring there keys back they will return the $10 back to you.

Pros: Many different areas, Lots of them are very spacious, cheap prices

Cons: Some of the apartments in Old Louisville are not in the best of shapes or areas



M street Apartments: M Street, Louisville, KY 40208

 Located near Manslick and Taylor Blvd. Ad states that apartment is $300-$350 and only 296 feet. Deposit is $300. Says it has two rooms. Your Living room kitchen, Bathroom and Bedroom nothing shared with your own private entrance.

Pros: Not sure haven’t been out to see it yet. However Close to Strip clubs if that’s your thing J!!

Cons: Not the best of areas, But it is making a come back.

The Cloister: 806 E Chestnut St, Louisville, KY 40204 (502) 587-0516



This one is very nice, compared to the rest. Its in the heart of Downtown Louisville has gated parking, playground for the kids and huge spaces. They have 1, 2, 3 bedrooms (One bedrooms are VERY hard to come by) Rent is pretty reasonable runs $450-$700 Depending on the size of the unit you choose. Now I will warn you. This property did use to have a lot of drug users in it. But the property manager has cleaned it out and it’s so quiet now you could hear a pin drop.

Cons: The guy that does the leasing is kind of weird and may give you the creepy old man vibe. But once you get to know him he is harmless. Also no pets or Dish TV/DirecTV. The deposit is equaled to your first months rent. So if you choose an apartment and the rent is $600 then the Deposit will be the same. 

Pros: You have to be honest before doing the application tell him about your eviction they will work with you. Very safe area if you have kids. Close to downtown all the hospitals and seven counties. Short walk to Broadway. Also JCC is a hop skip and a jump.

Now this one is a little tricky but still works. They only use Transunion on there background checks. However even on Transunion I have a eviction and they still accepted me. Rent is dirt cheap at $389 plus RUBS and $200 deposit. Accepts pets at additional $200 deposit and $40 extra monthly for a small pet under 40 pounds. They only have 1 bedroom and they are very small.

Pros: Great Shopping center near Apartment, Walking Distance to Tarc Bus 18,

Cons: Not the best of areas however they are trying to build it up. At the same time think about the price you are paying. You get what you pay for. They do have the RUBS system but I am told that is not over $30 more monthly

Turtle Creek : 1967 Goldsmith Ln Louisville, KY 40218



They will accept evictions that are at least 3 years old. However they do ask for 2 times the rent. Last time I was there rent was $469 monthly Deposit is $300. But they do state that once you pay that you wouldn’t have to pay again for 2 months. They also own the Colony Apartments right down the street that also does have the same program.

Pros: Hum very spacious, Free Cable, Pet Friendly with an additional deposit

Cons: Not in the best of Areas (But livable) Has Rubs added on to your rent monthly.

I am a 30 year old female originally from Louisville Ky. I moved back here from Atlanta around 3 years ago and been looking for an apartment since. I realized it was not going to be an easy process due to the 1 eviction I had on my record. Now yes I could have paid the $933 to get it off. But I was more concerned in having something to call my own then pay all that money and still have to stack more money to be able to move.

So I begin my hunt. I would Google daily: Second chance apartments Louisville Ky, Eviction friendly apartments Louisville Ky, No credit check apartments Louisville Ky. Came up with nothing. Which I found to be very odd due to I had just moved from Atlanta and they are always willing to give someone a second chance. I could go to their craigslist and type in Second Chance and find an apartment in a matter of minutes. But in Louisville that didn’t exist. So I decided to move in with a friend and leave it at that. 

Well this year after moving away then coming back to Louisville I was in the same boat. I needed an apartment. So I did my searches and came up with only two the one off Taylor Blvd and near Ft. Knox. Which wouldn't do me any good since I needed to be in a certain area. So after looking around for 5 more months, I finally found places and told myself that I would help other people in Louisville find places to live cause I know what you are going through I have been in your shoes.

I will still be doing more research and add more as I find them.
